E and I have been in our house for just about two years, and the all white walls and tacky 1992 era light fixtures have finally driven us to redecorate. We started, by replacing the old brass chandlier in the dining room, to a much nicer terracotta chandelier with rich red/brown lamp shades. After we changed the chandelier, we decided to change all of the light fixtures in the bathrooms to a more modern style. After doing that, we decided to begin to start painting.

We started in our master bathroom on New Years Eve, painting the white walls a nice light blue. We put a second coat of paint on yesterday, New Years Day, and will reinstall all of the hardware tonight.  I think that this coming weekend, we will paint one wall of the master bedroom a right dark red, and the other three walls a light cream, and leave the ceiling white.

We have also been out looking at furnature.  All of our furnature is second-hand, and while most of it is of good quality, some of it is begining to show its age.  So I think we will start by getting a new couch for the down-stairs family room.  Perhaps a reclining couch.  True comfort when watching TV.
